My rebrand flopped, and that’s okay.
I originally launched this site under a different name. I wrote a whole blog post (now deleted) about my rebrand. A new name, a new Twitter, and a site dedicated exclusively to her. I wrote about how constricted I felt as Jade Baker, and how a fresh start was necessary to begin my life as a provider.
I put up some ads as Victoria Jade. What I found was that more people than not continued to use my email listed on my Jade Baker twitter.
It was a frustrating moment, I put a lot of time into this rebrand. It was a risk I took with my time and money and it didn’t really work out. But I’m glad I took that risk.
Taking a risk is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
Because of my attempted rebrand, it made
me look at my identity differently. It made me stop doubting myself. I was seeing many many clients as Jade (heck I’m writing this on a flight to my first FMTY.) People like Jade, why shouldn’t I?
At the end of the day, my name doesn’t matter. My clients like me for who I am. They book me to be with me.
Did I feel a little silly redoing my site’s copy? Yeah definitely. I’m glad I tried it anyway. So long Victoria… you didn’t last very long and you will not be missed.
